FC Bath U10 White v Larkhall Athletic, Sunday 19th Oct.

FC Bath U10 White entertained Larkhall  Athletic at the weekend, in what was expected to be a tough encounter. The boys certainly looked the part with their new @Home sponsored shirts complete with numbers on the back. Brand new goal nets from Eduserv completed the professional set up and the boys were raring to go.

FC Bath started well, Buddy Meade showing his pace and skill on the right flank with Thomas Day supplying some good passing. Larkhall’s goalkeeper was in a defiant mood pulling off some fine saves from Buddy and Ollie Hammond. The first twenty minutes were end to end. Larkhall being the masters of the counter attack and it was not long despite the heroics of Goalkeeper Alfie Kelsey that Larkhall took the lead with a well worked goal.

FC Bath continued to press forward but again were caught on the counter giving too much space and time to the opposition. After a great save from Alfie and a goal line clearance from Thomas Shattock the boys lost concentration from the resulting corner and conceded a second.

Half time oranges were soon despatched and It was good to hear positive attitudes from all the boys. With a bit more strength and power it could easily have been all square at the interval.

A change at half time saw Rafael Rosser on for Thomas Day. Again FC Bath and Larkhall looking evenly matched. Good work from Ollie BB and Jack Joyce with some good passing which was more like the play this team are used to.

However with Larkhall making changes a few FC Bath players started to tire. The boys were giving everything but a couple of positional errors after a near goal for us and once again we were three on one. Third goal conceded.

Larkhall fourth and final goal coming in the last kick of this entertaining game.

The game was played in the right way and both teams were a credit. The boys will learn a lot from games like these and this will only help them become stronger and more determined the next time we play. Well Done FC Bath Whites

Man of the Match for FC Bath was Alfie Kelsey for outstanding saves and being a team player who supported his teammates.
