Peasedown Albion 1 - 4 FC Bath U10 White
The return to Peasedown was always going to be a different encounter after the exploits of last time. The opposition sporting new training tops with players in a clearly determined mood. The first 15 minutes were frantic as Peasedown closed our boys down which made it difficult for them to play a passing game on what was a superb pitch. Eventually Jack J, Buddy M and Thomas S were finding space as the opposition committed players forward. Three times we counter attacked but didn't take our chances, Ollie H coming closest with a long range effort hitting the bar.
Finally, after a Max C interception and a pass to Ollie H who then sent through a great ball to Buddy, the move was finished off with a confident finish. Despite having the best chances we were lucky to go into half time 1-0 up, thanks to some great defensive work by Max C assisted by Sonny W.
A change at half time saw Felix S come on for Sonny. Once again Peasedown started strong and were first to the ball. We then lost our shape and were exposed at the back. This resulted in Peasedown getting a deserved equiliser. This was the reality check the boys needed. It wasn't going to be like last time. With the opposition having two big central defenders camped in there box Ollie H was encouraged to shoot from distance. This paid off with two great goals and a dance celebration to match. Ollie also hitting the bar twice with some powerful strikes.
After an own goal from an FC Bath corner and a tiring opposition the game was secure. The defending and running by Max C was excellent throughout and he deservedly was given Man of the Match.
Another good team effort with Raf, Sonny, Max, Buddy, Jack, Thomas, Felix and Ollie all contributing to this 4-1 victory.
To cap off a good win I was sent a text from the Peasedown Manager saying ‘I loved your boys attitude, all very polite and so well behaved. Thanks, good luck in your next match.’

Melksham Town FC 0-14 FC Bath U10 Blue
Paul Brake's U10 Blue boys were in magnificent form away to Melksham Town on Sunday. Following a poor performance last weekend that saw them lose 4-0 to league leaders, Warminster Highbury, U10 Blue's were keen to get back to playing as a team and to their strengths. What's more impressive is that earlier this season league leaders Warminster Highbury had only beat Melksham 1-0.
An outstanding performance from Olly Beresford-Brown [GK], Thomas McHenry, Jacob Doell, Joe Ovigne, Elliott Brake, Alfie Keley, Cameron Hampton, George Hughes Gough.
Thanks to all families and friends for their excellent support and to @Home Estate Agents (Bath) for their charitable sponsorship of the team.

FC Bath U10 White 5-5 Midsomer Norton
This weekend FC Bath U10 White made the journey to Midsomer Norton. Once again there was some strange goings on in MSN, we had to be on are guard!
On a flat pitch with long grass it was going to be a test for the boys as we unfortunately only had seven players. Get well soon to Lucas G.
Thomas S volunteered to go in goal with Harry F and Max C in defence. Midfield consisted of Buddy M, Jack J and debutant Felix S with Ollie H up front.
The boys started brightly with some neat passing against a strong physical opposition. The breakthrough came eventually with a sublime strike from distance from Ollie H. The whole team congratulating a great goal from some good build up play. This spurred the opposition on who quickly replied with two goals. Too many boys forgetting their defensive rolls amid the excitement.
MSN after fifteen minutes then sent on five fresh sets of legs. The game then swung our way. Two further wonder goals from the confident boot of Ollie H and a fine goal from the impressive Felix S saw us four two at the interval.
Once again the opposition made a complete change of team. The boys rose to the occasion and played some delightful passing moves and dominated possession and play resulting in Capt. Jack Joyce getting on the score sheet. We then had several chances to kill the game off but the MSN Keeper was in fine form denying Buddy’s constant attacks. The midfield was fantastic, also helping out in defence on numerous occasions. With so much effort being put into their game the boys were bound to tire and once again MSN rang the changes. Despite some great goalkeeping from Harry we found ourselves leaking two quick goals.
At 5-4 from just inside their half Ollie H nearly won us the game with a shot smashing against the bar. With the ref. playing lots of added time MSN drew level to make it 5-5 in the dying minutes.
This was a real team effort. The boys will have learnt lots. A hard physical challenge against two teams, with our boys showing real commitment and passion. The players all said they enjoyed the game so we left MSN looking forward to the next game. Well done to every player you were all great this morning.
Man of the Match went to Ollie H for some superb goals and his all-round play.
Thanks to all families and friends for their excellent support and to @Home Estate Agents (Bath) for their charitable sponsorship of the team.

Frome Town FC Robins 4-7 FC Bath U10 Blue
On a crisp, clear, Remembrance Sunday, FC Bath U10 Blues travelled to Frome to face Frome Town Robins for their latest league match. Fielding a changed side, the team saw George HG and Lucas GD play in goal and midfield, Elliott B and Jacob D in defence, Jack J, Alfie K and Buddy M in midfield and Oliver H (wearing the Captain’s armband) as striker.
After a respectfully observed minutes silence, the game kicked off but the boys found themselves two goals down within the first few minutes – Frome Town were passing well and finding space in behind the defence and showed some clinical finishing.
The boys’ heads didn't drop though, and they fought their way back into the game and soon found their stride after Frome scored an unfortunate own goal. With momentum building, Elliott and Jacob started to find their feet at the back and the team pushed forward, using Lucas and Buddy in the channels well and getting balls into the box. George made some cracking saves to keep Frome out and before half time, Alfie had netted a hat-trick, including two wonderfully taken goals into the roof of the net from distance, and Buddy was also on the score sheet, a great reward for all his hard-work down the right. We headed into the break 5-2 up.
The lads were in buoyant mood at half time and, after polishing off the obligatory Jelly Babies, set out for the second half. Again, Frome were the quicker starters and soon scored a goal to pull it back to 5-3 before George found some space on the left, moving into the centre and putting the finishing touch to a great team goal. Jack and Oliver were working hard in a crowded midfield, trying to find the space and the key passes but Frome were well organised and kept pushing. Our defenders were constantly under pressure but they were playing well and taking their opportunities to burst forward to try to start another attack. Frome came back again, exploiting a huge hole in our back line to bring it back to 6-4 with 8 minutes left on the clock. Realising the score, the players settled down and maintained position and the boys again started to work the ball forward, using the wings and making space for each other. Eventually, Alfie struck again, bringing the score to 7-4 and the last few minutes of the game were all FC Bath.
I was very impressed with the teams’ attitude during the match. They sometimes find it difficult when they go down a goal or two to remain calm and play their game but, on this occasion, they did, and they all reacted well. All of the boys impressed me with their work rate in a physical game, so it was difficult to pick a stand-out performance. I decided to award the Man of the Match to Buddy in the end, not only for his tireless work rate, but also for his good match play. When Elliott was pushing out of defence on the right, Buddy was making the right runs, finding the space and making himself available for the passes down the channel and this started many an attacking move. On more than a couple of occasions, he was harassing the Frome defenders deep in their territory and winning the ball back on their goal line, thereby starting another attack from a situation which should have been the start of a Frome move.
Well done to all of the boys’ for some fine performances in a hard-fought match. Thanks to all families and friends for their excellent support and to @Home Estate Agents (Bath) for their charitable sponsorship of the team.
High Littleton 2-5 FC Bath U10 White
After heavy rain during the night the game was going to be an interesting and challenging encounter on a very heavy boggy pitch.
The boys were obviously up for it as it was noted by the team that the opposition ran to the changing rooms when we had a downpour. Not so for FC Bath Whites, they revelled in the warm up and enjoyed the weather, nothing was going to dampen their spirit. The physiological advantage was already won.
From the off the boys looked classy. High Littleton were very physical but it didn't phase them. Within ten minutes we were one nil up with a six pass move finished off by Buddy Meade who started up front. The assist came from Ollie Hammond starting at right midfield.
The opposition had their chances but Raf Rosser pulled off some fine saves.
Two further goals came quickly from Capt. Jack Joyce playing in the centre and Thomas Shattock playing on the left. The midfield all combined really well. At the back Thomas Day was given the task of marshalling the defence and played some fine passes. He was ably assisted by Felix Smith.
The score was 3-1 to FC Bath at the break.
Kicking up the slope Max Challen was sent on and was as solid as ever in his important defensive role.
Within five minutes Thomas Shattock grabbed his second, a carbon copy of his first, Buddy Meade going past four players, crossing the ball for Thomas to finish. This was a move straight off the training ground from the previous day, which was particularly pleasing. High Littleton replied instantly with a goal, leaving the score 4-2 to Bath.
It was then end to end stuff with Raf Rosser pulling of some superb saves. The new gloves had inspired him.
Then in the final stage of the game after being moved to midfield, Felix Smith smashed the ball right into the top corner and scored a wonderful goal. The celebration was also good.
A good all round performance against a good opposition, with every player equally involved in the successful achievement.
Man of the Match was Rafeal Rosser for excellent Goalkeeping.

FC Bath U10 Blue Victorious @ Chippenham Festival
FC Bath U10 Blue were in buoyant mood on Sunday as they ran out in new sponsored kits, thanks to a charitable sponsorship deal with Bath based Estate Agents, @Home.
The U10 Blues were playing in their first football festival of the season, hosted by Chippenham Town FC, at the excellent Stanley Park facility.
Although the Blues got off to a laboured start drawing their first match 0-0 with Bradford Town FC, they improved as the festival went on, winning their three remaining matches 3-0, 4-1 and 4-0 against opposition including Chippenham Town FC and Melksham Town FC. The three wins and a draw earned them sufficient points to win the festival.
U10 Blue Team Manager, Paul Brake commented that he was delighted with the way that the team improved their performance as the festival progressed. He commented, even when the boys hadn't found their stride in the first two games they still played with passion and determination. There were a few outstanding goals, including a wonderfully curled shot from outside the box by Lucas Grijalva Ditte and an unbelievable long range strike into the roof of the net from Alfie Kelsey.
Ollie BB had a reasonably untroubled but confident game in goal, given protection with some excellent defending from Joe Ovigne, and Jacob Doell. In midfield, Thomas McHenry, George Hughes Gough, Alfie Kelsey and Lucas Grijalva Ditte battled to dominate possession, whilst Elliott Brake lead most of the attack, interspersed with periods from Alfie and Thomas.
Thanks to all families and friends for their wonderful support and to Toby Knight, Director of @Home Estate Agents for giving his support to FC Bath, our local community football club which provides a fun, safe and professional football for the children of Bath.
